Technical Details & Test Data
- Moisture Healing by Aquaporin
“Aquaporins” are proteins that regulate the water passage in cells. AMACHAZURU Liquid boosts the functions of aquaporins in dermal cells to deliver water from one cell to the other. It refines skin texture and leaves the skin fresh by hydrating each individual cell.
- Keratinocyte Model
- Mechanism
Aquaporins (AQP) are proteins embedded in the cell membrane that selectively transport of water molecules. The narrowest part of the pore measures about 3 Å so that only approximately 2.8 Å diameter of water can pass through.
Aquaporin 3 (AQP3) exists on epidermal keratinocytes and is responsible for delivering water throughout the epidermis. AQP3 is known to transport glycerol as well as water.
It has been found that moisture content, elasticity, and the ability to recover from injury
are lower when AQP3 is absent from the skin. It is believed that aging reduces the number of aquaporins in the skin.
AMACHAZURU Liquid accelerates the production of AQP to deliver water to deep areas of the cells and enhance the skin moisturization internally, while recovering skin's original functions.- Promoting Aquaporin Production
- Inhibition of Transepidermal Water Loss(TEWL)
-
After 4 weeks treatment, the TEWL value of 5% AMACHAZURU Liquid was lower as compared to the control. This indicates that AMACHAZURU Liquid can be expected to enhance the skin's barrier function.
