Technical Details & Test Data
- Moisturizing effect (Improves skin moisture level and skin texture density)
A solution containing 1% of Wamino-BonBon and control (purifi ed water) were applied to the forearm fl exor part of 6 males and females in their 20’s to 50’s for 1 week. The skin moisture level and skin texture density of the applied parts were signifi cantly enhanced by 1 week.
- The combination of ingredients indigenous to Japan helps create a good feeling to skin, hair and formulation.
Wamino-BonBon is a 100%-made-in-Japan extract that is produced in combination only of “Sake lees” (Sake-kasu) made from a high-quality “Japanese Sake” brand “Kinokuniya Bunzaemon” and molasses from a Japanese-style high grade sugar product named “Sanuki Wasanbou Sugar”. Accordingly, the name Wamino-BonBon comes from a combination of “Wamino”, as in the ‘amino’ acid obtained from Sake lees as a ‘Wa (Japanese-style)’ ingredient, and “BonBon”, meaning a sugar candy, based on an image of “Wasanbon”. Wamino-BonBon is a preservative-free, natural cosmetic ingredient that is made solely with food materials, with both sustainability and traceability. Wamino-BonBon substantially changes formulation texture and provides moisture to skin and hair.
- Sake lees (Sake-kasu)
Sake lees is the by-product obtained through the fermentation of rice during the process of producing Japanese Sake. Containing amino acids, vitamin B2 and other compounds, the Sake lees have been applied since old times for skin care. The Sake lees used in Wamino-BonBon are obtained in the process of producing Kinokuniya Bunzaemon, the pure Japanese rice Sake by NAKANO BC Co.,Ltd., a company based in Wakayama Prefecture of Japan.
- Enhancing sense of use
We had 20 males and females in their 20’s to 50’s using a lotion containing 1% of Wamino-BonBon for 4 weeks, and evaluated their skin conditions on an 11-point scale from “very good (+5)” to “very bad (-5)”.
The Wamino- BonBon lotion received higher scores than 1% glycerin lotion, which was used as control, under all senses. Especially, the scores were high with senses such as dry/moist feeling and skin tone.
- Molasses
The molasses contained in “Wamino-BonBon” are fluids which are squeezed out as a by-product in the process of purifying Sanuki Wasanbou Sugar (known as Wasanbon Toh), produced by BAIKODO inc. from Kagawa Prefecture. Wasanbon Toh is a Japanese-style sugar product that is traditionally produced in Shikoku district of Japan.
- Improving foam quality
Wamino-BonBon was blended 1% into a commercially available facial cleanser, made foam in a foam container and measured the viscosity. Compared to a facial cleanser with no Wamino-BonBon added, the foam of the facial cleanser containing 1% of Wamino-BonBon showed a signifi cant increase in foam viscosity.
