- Inhibition of MMP-1 Expression
An extract of tobacco smoke was added to human dermal fibroblasts, and OUGON Liquid B’s activity to suppress the expression of MMP-1 was evaluated. As a result, OUGON Liquid B was confirmed to suppress the MMP-1 expression as compared to the control. Following result shows, OUGON Liquid B/G is found to inhibit the decomposition of collagen caused by the AhR-CYP signal and prevents skin aging.
- Inhibition of CYP1B1 Expression
As an environmental stress factor, an extract of tobacco smoke was added to human dermal fibroblasts, and OUGON Liquid B’s activity to suppress the expression of CYP1B1 was evaluated. As a result, OUGON Liquid B was confirmed to suppress the CYP1B1 expression as compared to the control. Following result shows, OUGON Liquid B/G is found to inhibit the AhR-CYP signal and prevents skin aging.
- Anti Aging activity
Test subjects were 19 male and female in their 20’s to 50’s who are active smokers or those exposed to passive smoking. They applied a lotion containing 2% OUGON Liquid B on their faces twice a day for 2 months. Wrinkles on their eye corners were analyzed using the replica method before the test started and 2 months later. After using the lotion containing OUGON Liquid B for 2 months, wrinkle recovery effect was confirmed (image right). Image analysis using replica shaded images also clarified that the depth of wrinkles on areas where OUGON Liquid B was applied significantly was reduced as compared to before the test.
- Inhibition of 2.5- Induced Mediators
Normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEK) were exposed with PM2.5. After the incubation, total RNA was prepared and subjected to RT-PCR for the determination of the mRNA expression of several inflammatory mediators. Ougon was shown to reduce the PM2.5-induced expression of IL-6 and IL-8 in dose dependent manners. Following result shows, OUGON Liquid B/G prevents PM2.5-induced skin aging.
- Whitening effect on human skin
Test subjects were 19 male and female in their 20’s to 50’s who are active smokers or those exposed to passive smoking. They applied a lotion containing 2% OUGON Liquid B on their faces twice a day for 2 months. After using the lotion containing OUGON Liquid B for 2 months, the darkness of the skin (melanin index) was observed and the number of dark spots on their faces was counted. In the area that OUGON Liquid B was applied, the melanin index was significantly lowered and the number of dark spots was reduced as compared to before the test.
