Safflower Oil High Oleic comes from the Safflower which is spiny erect herb resembling the thistle (Carthamus tinctorius) with attractive orange-red flowers. The seeds resemble sunflower seed but are approximately half the size. Safflower Oil is a commonly available oil and is mechanically expelled, refined, bleached, and deodorized. It has a high oleic content of about 80%.Safflower Oil High Oleic is characterized by a very high content of mono-unsaturated oleic acid (up to 83%), making it a very stable oil for many cosmetic applications. It can be used as an emollient in a wide range of skin care products. Due to its fatty acid composition, it has excellent occlusive properties, enabling it to act as a moisturizing agent by preventing excessive loss of moisture through the epidermis.
