Cinnulin PF® is a unique proprietary, patented cinnamon extract, that has research to support its functions including blood sugar and blood pressure. Cinnamon has a long history of use for flavoring, as a spice or preservative, and for medicinal purposes. In an in vitro study with cinnamon’s doubly linked Type-A polymers, glucose metabolism improved twenty-fold. After years of investigation, Cinnulin PF® was developed as a water-soluble extract from the bark of the cinnamon tree using a proprietary extraction process called Controlled Polymer Purification Technology (CPPT). This process allows the important, biologically active compounds to be isolated from the potential toxins from the whole cinnamon.

    Cinnulin PF® Supports Women’s Hormones

Two clinical studies have been performed showing that Cinnulin PF® supports women’s blood sugar levels, as well as hormones and the menstrual cycle. An 8-week randomized pilot study was performed with women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) to take either Cinnulin PF® or placebo to evaluate the influence on blood sugar. Methods include fasting and 2-hour oral glucose tolerance tests at baseline and post-treatment. The results showed that Cinnulin PF® significantly reduced insulin resistance but not in the placebo group.

In 2014, a second double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized study was performed with Cinnulin PF® showing that it aids women with their menstrual cycles and may support hormonal imbalances. Women taking Cinnulin PF® had significantly, improved menstrual cyclicity over the placebo group.

Cinnulin PF® and the Nervous System

In 2014, a cell study was performed with Cinnulin PF® to evaluate if its polyphenols have an influence on free radicals of the central nervous system. The brain utilizes a large amount of oxygen for energy and consequently, it is vulnerable to oxidative damage.

Cinnulin PF® and Potential Gastrointestinal Support

An animal study showed that the combination of Cinnulin PF® and the probiotic LactoSpore had a strong synergetic effect on phagocytosis, cholesterol regulation, and blood sugar. The combination also demonstrated reduced intestinal damage in an animal model.

Cinnulin PF® and Blood Sugar Research

Cinnulin PF® has been shown to reduce insulin resistance in vitro and in vivo studies by increasing phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase activity in the insulin-signaling pathway and thus potentiating insulin action.

Cinnulin PF®’s polyphenol type-A polymers have been shown to stimulate autophosphorylation of the insulin receptor and inhibit protein tyrosine phosphatase I. In addition, adipocytes treated with cinnamon extract in vitro increase the glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis by these mechanisms. Cinnulin PF® was tested in a 12-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial with men and women with features of metabolic syndrome. Cinnulin PF® or placebo was taken at a dosage of 500 mg per day. Cinnulin PF® versus the placebo demonstrated significant improvements in fasting blood sugar, and systolic blood pressure and showed an increase in lean body mass and a reduction in body fat.
