Applications & Uses

Application Area
Application Method
Uses

Used in conjuction with IP9310 and IP9029 for protecting magnesium running at 570⁰F, for example on the Viper Engine.

Application

Surface Preparation

Degrease abrasive blast and pre-treat as per individual specification.

Paint Preparation

Stir well before use.

Application Method

Application by conventional spray or HVLP.

Drying Curing

  • Apply to RPS661/22.
  • Heat the object to be coated to between 250 - 300°F immediately prior to painting.
  • Spray one coat onto the heated object, when the object temperature reaches approx. 140°F, return it to the oven and reheat.
  • The coating shall then be stoved by heating the component to 260°F - 340°F for 30 minutes.
  • Apply the second coat following the procedure as for the first coat. Repeat the operation until the required film thickness is achieved; flash off for 20 minutes, then stove at 365 - 385°F for 2 hours for full cure.
