Features & Benefits

Product Highlights
  • PL181 should be tested before use in aqueous envionments or manufacture processes where aqueous washing is used.
  • PL181 has only limited resistance to water immersion.

Applications & Uses

Application Area
Uses
  • Used for example on the marine RB211 and Rolls Westinghouse WR21.
  • Protecting an internal satellite bush running at 930 - 1020°F, it is used at the turbine end in a variable geometry area to reduce friction.
Application

Surface Preparation

The object should be abrasive blasted, dry and grease-free.

Paint Preparation

Stir well or roll before use. Do not shake. The product is supplied and ready for use. Can be thinned with maximum 10% de-mineralized water.

Application Method

Apply to the substrate (steel to MSRR 6504) by spray; heating the part to 50°C improves the quality of the coating. Full obliteration will not be achieved; the product is semi-translucent. It is normal to build up the coating thickness in 3 - 4 coats.

It is possible to add up to 10% de-mineralized water to ease the viscosity and then spray very soft and apply thin mist coats, allowing a flash off between the coats. Wash equipment with water

Drying Curing

Air dry for a minimum of 30 minutes, stove for 1 hour at 300°F.
