- Functioning of Indofil 850
During the pigment grinding agglomerates are associated into a dispersion of particles. In the process of dispersion, Indofil 850 mainly prevents association of pigments and extender particles. Indofil 850 gets adsorbed onto the pigment particles and hinders close approach of particles which results in good wetting & stabilization of pigment particles which finally results in enhancing paint properties like opacity, tinting strength, gloss. Indofil 850 is soluble only in polar solvents such as water, glycerin and ethylene glycol. For maximum effectiveness, Indofil 850 should be used in systems at pH 9.0 to 10.0.
- Advantages
- _x0001_ Superior performance in formulations in which reactive pigments such as zinc oxide or basic lead silicate are incorporated, imparting improved stability to such systems
- _x0001_ Enhances flow and leveling of paint
- _x0001_ Contribute to overcome pigment floating & settling
- _x0001_ Reduces mill viscosity which allows higher pigment/ extender loading in paint formulation
