- Technical Information
Actions of PolyAquol™-2W on the skin barrier integrity
UV radiation creates openings in the epidermal barrier leading to an excessive trans-epidermal water loss. Skin barrier weakening can also allow the penetration of extraneous components such as allergens, surfactants or fragrances that may induce skin sensitivity. The molecular structure of PolyAquol™-2W can reinforce the barrier function and most likely provide a repair action sealing breaches. This would prevent excessive water loss and reduce skin sensitivity.
- Can be added to the water phase or the oil phase of an emulsion
PolyAquol™-2W can be added to the water phase or the oil phase of an emulsion depending upon the viscosity level targeted.
