The preservative system employs traditional preservation in conjunction with the Hurdle Technology approach, utilizing a combination of multifunctional ingredients to create a hostile environment for microbial growth.
Lexgard® HPO includes the following components to create a complete broad spectrum preservation system:
- Caprylyl Glycol: Skin conditioning agent that prevents the growth of bacteria in formulation
- Phenoxyethanol: A traditional preservative
- Hexylene Glycol: A carrier for ease of formulation
