Benefits

Enjoy the many health benefits of cherries all year round. InovoBiologic has produced a cherry extract replete with all the phytonutrients found in fresh, sweet Bing cherries. This extract is ideal for reducing inflammation and free radical damage caused by everyday living. It is a valuable supplement for anyone coping with arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.

  • Bing cherries may help improve painful arthritis (esp. gout) due to their anti-inflammatory effects. Studies show that Bing cherries can lower plasma urate, a precursor to uric acid that accumulates in joints, particularly the big toe.
  • Cherries decrease other markers of inflammation such as C-reactive protein and nitric oxide, (a chemical also involved in arthritic joint damage).
  • Cherries inhibit inflammation by blocking Cox-1 and Cox-2 (cyclooxygenase-1 and cyclooxygenase-2) enzymes that play a key role in the production of inflammatory compounds called prostaglandins. Pain killers such as naproxen and ibuprofen also work this way.
  • In 1950 a study of 12 people with gout showed that eating cherries or drinking cherry juice prevented attacks of gout. The study, although small, pointed to substances in cherries that reduce inflammation.
Cherry Nutrition

Cherries are high in vitamin C, beta-carotene, potassium and pectin. Cherries also contain significant levels of boron, favorably affecting bone health and they are low on the glycemic index.

Sweet cherries are also excellent sources of quercetin, containing approximately 2 mg of quercetin/100 mg fresh weight, a concentration similar to that of apples. Sweet cherries also contain epicatechin, and catechin.

Bing cherries are loaded with anti-inflammatory anthocyanins including cyanidin-3-rutinoside, cyanidin-3- glucoside and smaller amounts of cyanidin, peonidin, peonidin-3-glucoside and peonidin-3-rutinoside.

CherryRich can be customized for a wide range of applications
