Features & Benefits

Vitalim ® advantages on harvest quality
  • The formulation of VITALIM® is essential for Calcium: it ensures the important needs of veraison with precise applications*. Calcium is very little mobilizable and tends to accumulate in aged tissues (RUFFNER 1982). * High Calcium bioavailability in the early stages of berry growth stimulates the synthesis of tannic acid (FAILLA et Al. 1996).
  • The assurance that the Calcium provided will circulate well in the vine. It allows a good regulation of cell pH. For wines, the Calcium of VITALIM® intervenes on the regulation of acidity by neutralizing the organic acids of wines by precipitation.  A foliar Calcium supplement for vines on acid or decarbonated soils (alluvial terraces).
  •  The contribution combined with the Magnesium of VITALIM® vine makes it possible to ensure the needs important to the vine, from flowering to fruit set.
  • The good assimilation of Magnesium for the return to the bunches improves the feeling of fat in the wines, a better accumulation of anthocyanins in the berries, better extractability of the color as well as an increase in degree (A. Crespy 2003).
Biological characteristics

The major bases (K, Ca and Mg) are interdependent. Potassium being the most soluble, it will hinder the assimilation of Calcium and Magnesium. Calcium is of great importance for cell multiplication and guarantees the solidity of walls. It influences plant growth. The vine consumes 56 to 112 kg per hectare per year and it is found in wine at 0.03 to 0.2 g/l. It should be noted that phenomena Magnesium deficiency can appear in case of excess Calcium.
Magnesium is a major element of chlorophyll function and strengthens defenses. The vines consume 10 to 25 kg per hectare per year and 0.04 to 0.16 g/l are dosed in the wine. A deficiency will hamper growth and chlorosis will appear on the oldest leaves. An excess of Magnesium results in leaf burns and hinders the absorption of Calcium.
Calcium is recognized for improving resistance to botrytis and decreasing laccases. Magnesium plays a fundamental role in the reduction of dripping and desiccation of the stalk. Correlated to phosphorus, it increases resistance to powdery mildew (A.Crespy). These two divalent cations are related to the influence of soil water status on the activity plant physiology. Resulting from the association of various micro and macro-elements 100% of marine origin, VITALIM® is a liquid formulation based on Calcium and Magnesium. Thanks to its original formulation, VITALIM® is the only product capable of fulfilling these three functions:
• respond early to an identified risk of deficiency
• ensure the assimilation, storage and redistribution of nutrients
• guarantee a good balance between Calcium and Magnesium

Applications & Uses

Applicable Crop
Use
  • It is advisable to apply VITALIM ® regularly throughout the growth period of the plant on a regular basis, ensuring 2 to 4pre-bloom applications (1.5 l/ha)
  • Continue until the beginning of fruit maturity in order to stimulate assimilation throughout of production and to anticipate the jolts in supply which are always detrimental to quality.
Dose/ Application

1 à 2 L/ ha

Make 2 to 4 applications before flowering then continue until the onset of fruit maturity in order to stimulate assimilation throughout production and to anticipate power surges.

Control of calcium and magnesium assimilation

VITALIM® - Control of Calcium And Magnesium Assimilation

The pre-flower applications of VITALIM® in 2014 highlight the displacement of the phenomenon of substitution of bases in the leaves and grapes (Ca/Mg) thus ensuring the correct concentration ratio of Calcium and Magnesium in the sap flows from the separated bunch stage to mid version.

Available calcium concentration difference Between vitalim® and the witness

the quantity of Calciumdosed in the raisin bay leaves at the auction house is 16% superior compared to the witness. The application of vitalim® , It is also possible to limit the phenomenon of fruit ripening as well as the development of botrytis. (dosage realized by galys-2013 laboratory)

Technical characteristics of the formulation

Its natural and original surfactant composition gives it the following properties:
• Resistance to washing (80 mm on average)
• Humectant: sheltered under a natural protective film, in aqueous solution, the elements are available immediately, instantly assimilable and then diffused over time.
• Storage: the unused elements remain assimilable and will be stored in the reserves at the end of the cycle.
• Spreading: its liquid solution spreads the droplet up to 3 times on the leaf.
• Active retention: it limits the risks of phytotoxicity due to the accumulation of droplets
