- What is special about Loxidan?
The science of effective mixing. As early as the 1970s, it was shown that synergistic mixtures stabilize lard better than individual substances. Not only can the rate of use of antioxidants be reduced in mixtures, but their effectiveness is also increased at the same time! All other Loxidan formulations have been developed with this in mind. Instead of conventional mixtures, we offer expert knowledge about the complex interactions of the individual substances. Perfect coordination for special applications. The protection against lipid oxidation is as versatile as the different feed recipes and fats used. Not every antioxidant is equally effective in every feed matrix, but has its own range of activity and is suitable for different areas of application. More than 50 years of research and experience with Loxidan have contributed to the development of a specific product portfolio (eg for pet food, premix and mixed feed production) so that different solutions are possible for every area of application.
Cleverly combined, natural alternatives. The desire for natural alternatives to synthetic antioxidants is unbroken. The natural Loxidan mixtures are just as effective as mixtures of synthetic active ingredients. High-quality raw materials and an ideally coordinated mixture are decisive for an optimal result. As shown in Figure 2, Loxidan formulations with natural antioxidants effectively reduce the formation of oxidation products in linseed oil. Hard facts and empirical values. In addition to more than 500 routine analyzes, we support around 20 customer-specific projects per year. With our knowledge of antioxidants, our technical support and our expertise in all aspects of analysis, we will find the right one for your feed and your production process term Loxidan mixture

Technical Details & Test Data
- Swift Test
-
Swift test with lard (100°C) modified according to MÜLLER and HARTFIEL, 1980: The Swift test is comparable to the ranzimat test and shows how long it takes for fat to go rancid. The longer the induction time, the better the fat is stabilized by the added antioxidants.
- Linseed Oil Storage Study
-
Linseed oil storage study: Linseed oil samples with different antioxidant mixtures (Loxidan) were stored at 41°C for 3 weeks. The peroxide number, which is an indicator of the formation of primary oxidation products, was measured at regular intervals. The higher the POZ, the further the oxidation of the oil has progressed.
