- Solutions of flake shellacs in basic aqueous media are readily obtainable up to a solids content of approx. 30%.
- Solutions in Organic Solvents
- TIGERLAC™ 5061 Flaked Shellacs are readily soluble in low-molecular weight alcohols (e.g. ethanol, n- and isopropanol) and some glycol derivatives (e.g., propyl glycol, butyl glycol), in benzylalcohol and others.

Storage & Handling
- Storage and Transport
- The shelf life of TIGERLAC™ 5061 Flaked Shellacs will be more than 2 years if stored/transported at temperatures < 20 degrees C. Higher temperatures will accelerate aging of solid material and raise the risk of "blocking" especially under the influence of humidity. Because of reasons mentioned above, we recommend refrigeration during transport during the warm summer months.
