- Surface and well water are generally not suitable for direct feed into cooling systems because they contain dissolved salts and undissolved solid particles which, when heated, can impair the functioning of the equipment by fouling the surfaces.
- The use of our products for watertreatment prevent the formation of deposits throughout the system. For follow-up treatment of dry cleaning we recommend KEBOPEX.

KEBOPLEX 105 is an all-round acting dispersant with an excellent stabilizing and protective colloid effect. When using KEBOPLEX 105 the formation of scales of solid matters such as hydrated iron oxides, clay, silicates as well as the precipitation of hardness elements is prevented. KEBOPLEX 105 is considered to keep in dissolution especially alkaline earth ions in strong salty solutions at substoichiometric dosage, i.e. on conditions which normally cause a precipitation of the scale forming agents. When using biocides at the same time the disinfectant effect will be intensified with KEBOPLEX 105 by favoring the penetration ability of the biocide.
Hints for the Application in Food Processing Factories
- KEBOPLEX 105 complies with FDA regulation 21 CFR § 173.73.
- The organic raw materials contained in KEBOPLEX 105 are exclusively of petrochemical origin and therefore, do neither bear the risk of BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) nor are they genetically engineered.
- Addition and Dosing
Addition
- KEBOPLEX 105 is continuously added as preventive treatment. The product is added by means of a dosing unit at points of high turbulence, e. g. into the suction of pumps in order to ensure a good distribution in the system.
- Tanks, pipings and pumps for the dosing of KEBOPLEX 105 should be made of plastics.
Dosing
The dosing is dependent on different factors:
- Thermal load of the heat exchanger surfaces
- Hardness of water
- Concentration factor
- Content of turbid matter
- Retention time
At continuous application as dispersant the product concentration should be between 10 and 100 g/m3. When being applied as scale control aid approx. 3 ppm KEBOPLEX 105 for 1 mol/m3 hydrogen carbonate are required. The quantity necessary for each individual case can be determined by tests made by our Department for Application Technique.
