Features & Benefits

Advantages
  • Intervene in the crystallization process.
  • They are specifically adsorbed at the growth sites of the submicroscopic crystal nuclei and thus prevent the formation of regular crystals as well as their adhesion to the walls of the system.
  • Due to its anionic character, KEBOPLEX 137 should not be used together with cationic products (e.g. quaternary ammonium compounds).
  • Is added by means of a dosing system at places of high turbulence, e.g. before pumps, to ensure good distribution in the system.
Product Highlights
  • Surface and well water are generally not suitable for direct feed into cooling systems because they contain dissolved salts and undissolved solid particles which, when heated, can impair the functioning of the equipment by fouling the surfaces.
  • The use of our products for watertreatment prevent the formation of deposits throughout the system. For follow-up treatment of dry cleaning we recommend KEBOPEX.

Applications & Uses

Applicable Processes
I&I Cleaning Applications
Applications
  • KEBOPLEX 137 is used to prevent scale formation in industrial water systems and open cooling systems.
  • KEBOPLEX 137 is a synergistic blend of polyelectrolytes and an organic phosphorus compound which prevents the formation of scales containing calcium carbonate.
  • In untreated waters macroscopic crystals are being formed which may cause the formation of calcium carbonate scales and other contaminations in the system. The active substances of KEBOPLEX 137 early interfere in the crystallization process. They are specifically adsorbed at the places of growth of the submicroscopic crystal germs and consequently prevent the formation of regular crystals as well as their adherence to the walls of the system.
  • Even at high supersaturation of CaCO3, the habit of the crystals is modified so far that incrustations are not being formed.
  • Already existing deposits can be mobilized by using KEBOPLEX 137 and be transported to those places where it is possible to remove them from the system by means of blow down or filtration.
  • Because of its anionic character KEBOPLEX 137 should not be applied together with cationic products (e.g. quaternary ammonium compounds).

Addition

  • KEBOPLEX 137 is added by means of a dosing unit at places of high turbulence, e.g. at the suction side of pumps to ensure a good distribution in the system.
  • For tanks, pipings and pumps which come into contact with KEBOPLEX 137 plastic material should be used.
Dosing

The dosing is dependent on the various factors:

  • Thermal load of the heat exchanger surfaces
  • Concentration factor
  • Retention time
  • Turbid matter content
  • pH-value
  • Temperature of the water

The product concentration should be chosen so that at a carbonate hardness of SK₄.₃ = 1 mol/m³ (2.8°dH) between 1 and 5 g/m³ KEBOPLEX 137 are added.

Areas of Application

Domestic hot water systems and open recooling systems.
