Advantages
  • Liquid inhibitor that is readily soluble in hydrochloric acid.
  • It is storage stable undiluted even in hydrochloric acid solutions.
Advantages of LITHSOLVENT Cleaning Concentrates

LITHSOLVENT cleaners are intended for customers who do not have the option to prepare their own cleaning solutions. Generally, they are inhibited methanesulfonic, formic, hydrochloric, amidosulfonic, citric and phosphoric acids, formulated for different cleaning temperatures and materials.

LITHSOLVENT AL - Advantages of Lithsolvent Cleaning Concentrates

Applications & Uses

Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Use Level
2 g/ltr
Applications
  • LITHSOLVENT CL 4 is a highly efficient inhibitor formulation for the protection of all metal materials usual in the boiler and plant construction in acid solutions.
  • LITHSOLVENT CL 4 inhibits the corrosion of all kinds of steel and alloys on copper basis. Acid solutions inhibited with LITHSOLVENT CL 4 are applied:
    • at the chemical cleaning with hydrofluoric acid solutions to remove rust, scales and magnetite (Fe3O4) from boilers, production plants, piping systems a.s.o. according to the circulation and once through system.
    • at the chemical cleaning of boilers, pipelines a.s.o. with organic acids
  • LITHSOLVENT CL 4 has a very high protective effect on all metallic materials used in the construction of boilers, apparatus and pipings whereby the dissolution of scales and incrustations is not impaired.
  • LITHSOLVENT CL 4 contains cationic inhibitors and non-ionogenic surfactants with surface active characteristics which ensure a reduction of the surface tension and thus providing the immediate wetting of the surfaces to be cleaned.
  • Consequently the incubation time, i.e. the period preceding the beginning of the dissolution process of the deposits to be removed is shortened. Furthermore, slightly oily contaminations are emulsified, dirt particles are dispersed and subsequent rinsing procedures are facilitated. Thanks to the cationic inhibitors LITHSOLVENT CL 4 has a disinfectant effect.
Applications
  • LITHSOLVENT AL is a highly efficient inhibitor formulation particularly for the protection of aluminum and its alloys during the chemical cleaning with hydrochloric acid.
  • It can be used from room temperature up to max. 40°C.
  • LITHSOLVENT AL contains a combination of specifically acting inhibitors in an optimum blend.
  • LITHSOLVENT AL is a liquid inhibitor easily soluble in hydrochloric acid. Also in undiluted form it is storable in hydrochloric acid solutions.
  • When being used according to instructions aluminum and its alloys as well as steels are effectively protected. However, we recommend to previously test how the material to be treated behaves in the cleaning solution as we cannot provide a general guarantee.

Addition
It is recommended to prepare the cleaning solution in a separate tank at the indicated concentration and then to fill it into the system.

Dosing
  • In general the dosing rate of LITHSOLVENT CL 4 amounts to 2.0 kg/m3 diluted acid. The duration of treatment should not exceed 6 hours.
  • After acidification the cleaned boilers and plants should be carefully rinsed with water.
Addition and Dosing
  • It is recommended to prepare the cleaning solution with the indicated concentration in a separate tank and then to fill it into the system.
  • In general the dosing rate amounts to 2 kg LITHSOLVENT AL/m3 diluted acid. If the inhibitor should be added into the concentrated acid of 25%, 1 kg LITHSOLVENT AL have to be dosed per 100 kg acid.
  • This inhibited acid can be diluted in the ratio 1:5 up to 1:10. It should not be used in undiluted form.
  • The duration of action of the inhibited acid, particularly at temperatures of 40°C, on the materials should not exceed 3 hours.
  • After the acidification the plant and apparatus should be carefully rinsed with a 1 - 2% sodium carbonate solution (Na2CO3). Caustic soda (NaOH) should not be used.
Areas of Application

Evaporators, steam boilers, heat exchangers, piping systems and all kinds of heat engineering equipment.
