- Advantages
- Environmentally friendly cleaning agent for water-carrying systems.
- Effective at low room temperature.
- Especially also for air washers and sprinkler humidifiers with the materials zinc and aluminum.
- Prepare solution in a separate container in the specified concentration and transfer to the system.
- Advantages of LITHSOLVENT Cleaning Concentrates
LITHSOLVENT cleaners are intended for customers who do not have the option to prepare their own cleaning solutions. Generally, they are inhibited methanesulfonic, formic, hydrochloric, amidosulfonic, citric and phosphoric acids, formulated for different cleaning temperatures and materials.
- Product Highlights
- Is an environmentally friendly cleaning agent for water-bearing systems.
- Is already effective at room temperature. However, the solution can be heated up to 40°C to speed up the removal of deposits.
- Dissolves calcium compounds.

- Applications
- LITHSOLVENT Cleaner 748 is suitable to dissolve calcareous scales which, above all, are being formed in air washers, spray type air coolers and hot water bearing systems.
- The cleaner is already effective at ambient temperature. For a quicker dissolution of the scales the solution can be heated up to 40°C. At this temperature a negative effect on the materials of the system is not expected.
- The following metals are protected against corrosion up to max. 40°C: all kinds of steel, cast iron, zinc, aluminum and alloys on the basis of copper.
- Water-carrying systems, air washers and sprinkler humidifiers.
- Addition and Dosing
Dosing
The consumption of the cleaning agent is dependent on the quantity of scale and its composition. For the dissolution of 1 kg calcium carbonate approx. 4 kg LITHSOLVENT Cleaner 748 are necessary.
Due to the vigorous development of gas (carbon dioxide) at the beginning of the cleaning process, installations and rooms have always to be well aerated. In general the cleaning process is completed when the gas formation has stopped. In case of residual scales, the treatment has to be repeated with freshly prepared solution. After cleaning carefully rinse the system with water whereby loose sludge can be removed from the plant.
Addition
It is recommended to prepare the solution at the indicated concentration in a separate tank and then fill it into the system. The concentration in the water recommended by us is 25 % LITHSOLVENT Cleaner 748.
- Coverings
Inorganic scale such as calcium carbonate, calcium oxalate, silicates, occasionally phosphates, aconates, citrates, depending on water use, also sulfates or organic coatings.
