Surface Preparation
Surfaces should be dry and free from contamination such as release compounds, oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, mildew, mold, laitance and any other material that may inhibit penetration. Subject to curing conditions, new concrete, masonry and stucco to cure minimum of 14-days; cementitious patch repairs to cure minimum 3-days and up to 14-days subject to repair size and curing conditions. Fast set/high early strength patching material can reduce cure wait period. Off-form and precast concrete high-pressure water washed to remove cement fines from surface. Substrate must be in a surface dry state. Protect plants, glass, asphalt, bitumen, plastics and painted surfaces prior to application.
Application Method
Best applied undiluted by low-pressure spray (not airless) or roller with surface temperature between 45°F and 90°F.
Application QC
- The surface must be completely wet out; if applying by spray use wet on wet application technique. Typically touch dry 30-minutes at 75°F – water repellent 6-hours. Do not apply
- if rain is due on day of application
- in hot direct sunlight that heats the substrate above 90°F.
- in high wind conditions
if ambient temperature is 45°F and falling For low porosity substrate (e.g. prestressed concrete) mist apply only to avoid surface residue buildup due to minimal absorption; surface residue due to poor substrate porosity may negate use as a primer. Avoid surface residue so to allow Si-Rex03 Silicone Resin Emulsion Paint application to concrete surface without evidence of “fish eye” effect or other deleterious issues. Excess residue, minimal penetration and/or poor adhesion may point to previous coating treatment or residual curing compound and may exclude its use as a primer.
Application Rate
Average application rate 200sqft per US gallon – can vary between 60- 800+ sqft per US gallon depending on substrate kind and porosity. Apply test area and check penetration and surface residue once dry. SILICONE RESIN PAINT TOPCOAT Allow Si-Prime to cure for 6-hours or overnight prior to application of Si-Rex03 Silicone Resin Emulsion Paint.

Safety & Health
- RESTRICTIONS ON USE
Do not use in below grade or full immersion situation where hydrostatic pressure can be significant.
Limitations
Overspray can leave film residue, remove immediately with water.
Packaging & Availability
- Packaging
5 Gallon (18.93 Liter) Pail.
Storage & Handling
- Storage & Cleanup
-
Si-Prime has at least a 12-month shelf life when stored in originally sealed containers at temperatures not above 90°F (32°C); minimum temperature during storage and transportation 37°F (3°C). Containers to be protected against direct sunlight. Do not store on concrete floor. If beyond use by date shown on label does not mean product is no longer usable; properties to be checked for quality assurance reasons.
