Kostol IBT is an emulsifying wax based on quaternary ammonium salt. This emulsifier produces thick and creamy emulsions that feel light and hydrating on the skin with 3-5% only usage levels. By putting this emulsifier in salt form it will dissolve in water, and because it is cationic it is attracted to the hair – making it the perfect ingredient for shampoos and conditioners, as well as a host of other personal care products.

Behenyl Alcohol 2275 is a white, waxy solid with a minimum concentration of 70-80 percent of behenyl alcohol. This behenyl alcohol blend was produced to reduce the crystalline structure which enhances the functionality.

Siliconyl Carnauba Milk (Wax #558B) is a stable <500nm wax dispersion with unique formulating advantages. This dispersion couples the properties of Carnauba Wax with Silicones to produce a multifunctional performance additive designed for cold formulating. Siliconyl Carnauba Milk has application as a film former and functions at low usage levels between 2% and 10%. Siliconyl Carnauba Milk improves barrier properties, water repellency, slip, and diminishes surface imperfections. It is ideal for use in mascaras, sun care, creams, lotions, and hair care.

Kostol TMC-25 is a behentrimonium chloride and cetearyl alcohol emulsifier with a 25% active level. This standard emulsifier is manufactured without isopropyl alcohol in the USA by Koster Keunen.

PEG-8 Beeswax is the result of the esterification of the free fatty acids of beeswax with polyethylene glycol. Koster Keunen Castor Wax is derived from the plant Ricinus communis. The oil is hydrogenated to make this hard, brittle, high melt point vegetable wax. Kostol BAQ is a new emulsifying wax that is a blend of high molecular weight fatty alcohols possessing strong emulsifying properties when combined with Quats and Beheneth-5. Only three percent (3-4%) of Kostol BAQ in water produces emulsions with creamy consistency.

Kester Wax K-EM2 is an ester of ethylene glycol and Montan Acid Wax approved by the German Pharmacopeia (DAB) for use in coatings, as a retarding agent, in tablet binding, and is a strong gelling agent in anhydrous products.

PEG Carnauba is a polyethylene glycol derivative of natural Type 1 yellow carnauba wax. Formulators use it as a thickening agent for film forming and emulsifying. It imparts a non-greasy feel to your formulations and gives the final product additional slip feel. PEG Carnauba, a cost effective raw material, provides superior stability. It is film forming and imparts a non-waxy feel when compared with other conventional cosmetic ingredients. In emulsion systems, the high molecular weight monoesters (> C-60) are popular for their film forming and barrier properties. Monoesters are very easy to stabilize using PEG Carnauba.

Kester Wax BK-40, a high molecular weight branched ester, mimics the textures of butters and hydrogenated chemistries without the oxidation and rancidity issues. It is hard and brittle with a low melt point. These attributes impart a creamy texture and help to improve skin moisture without adding greasiness like many butters.

Koster Keunen knows that formulators need an option other than candelilla wax due to the issues and shortages in that market. We have developed this alternative to mimic the major and minor components of candelilla in cost effective way. Candelilla Wax Alternative can be used in any formula looking to replace candelilla wax. Uses include color cosmetics, hair and skin care. Synthetic Beeswax is a match of the physical and chemical properties of the natural beeswax. Synthetic Beeswax consists chiefly of a mixture of esters of even-numbered, straight chain acids and alcohols containing 16-36 carbon atoms. The match to natural beeswax is achieved by blending a mixture of fatty acid esters, fatty acids and alcohols from a non-animal raw material source.

Kostol IBT-50 is a highly concentrated cationic emulsifying wax. Kostol IBT-50 works at low usage levels producing ideal hair conditioning properties. Our Kostol IBT-50 has been deodorized to have a very low odor which will reduce a formulations requirement for high loading of fragrances. Kostol IBT-50 produces emulsions with creamy and thick consistency.

Koster Keunen Sunflower Wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the winterization of sunflower oil. This wax consists of long chain, saturated C-42 to C-60 esters.
