Applications & Uses
- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Recommended Uses
- All types of metal surfaces including iron and steel where corrosion is a problem. Must be topcoated
- Drying Time
Exposure to rain or heavy dew: 4-6 hours
Between coats and before foot traffic: 24 hours minimum
- Coverage Rate
Apply at 250 sq ft per gallon. Allow additional surface area by multiplying total sq ft by 1.15 for corrugated and irregular metal surfaces.
- Surface Preparation
Removal of old paint by sanding, scraping or other means may generate dust or fumes that contain lead. Exposure to lead dust or fumes may cause brain damage or other adverse health effects, especially in children or pregnant women. Controlling exposure to lead or other hazardous substances requires the use of proper protective equipment, such as a properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) and proper containment and cleanup.
Surface must be power washed (minimum 2,000 psi) to remove dirt, and other foreign matter which could prevent proper adhesion. Surfaces must be completely dry prior to coating.
Important: Where ponding water conditions persist beyond 48 hours, roof drains or other corrective measures must be installed to eliminate water build-up prior to coating the roof. Repair all cracks, breaks, open seams and other imperfections with Kool Seal® Storm Patch® Acrylic Patching Cement and Kool Seal® Storm Patch® Polyester Fabric. Apply Kool Seal ® Storm Patch® Acrylic Rust Primer to existing rusted areas.
- Application
Do not apply below 50°F (10°C) or when rain is forecast. Applications during periods of low temperature and high humidity will extend dry time. Keep From Freezing.
Thoroughly mix product prior to and during application. Airless spray or apply with a low nap roller or broom at the appropriate coverage rate.
- Clean Up
