KURARAY POVAL™ 3-85 S4 by Kuraray is a water-soluble, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It exhibits high molecular weight and good cohesion. It possesses good adhesion to fibers-, fillers- and pigments. It provides extension of the open time, increase of the setting speed and influence on the rheology. KURARAY POVAL™ 3-85 S4 is recommended for the modification of emulsion adhesives.

KURARAY POVAL™ 30-98 by Kuraray is a fully saponified polyvinyl alcohol having varying degree of polymerization and hydrolysis. It possesses good penetration capacity and good adhesion properties. It is an odorless, water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It provides high cohesion, toughness, low electrostatic charging and re-dissolving capacity of the dried film in water. KURARAY POVAL™ 30-98 is designed for use in pressure sensitive adhesive labels. Its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, setting speed and rheology. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC.

KURARAY POVAL™ 23-88 CM by Kuraray is polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade modified with cationic monomer. It exhibits good affinity to cellulose such as pulp & cotton and high adhesion strength to hydrophobic substances. KURARAY POVAL™ 23-88 CM is recommended for use in adhesives.

KURARAY POVAL™ 8-88 S2 by Kuraray is a water soluble, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. Exhibits high molecular weight, good cohesion, good adhesion to fibers-, fillers- and pigments. It provides extension of the open time, increase of the setting speed and influence on the rheology. KURARAY POVAL™ 8-88 S2 is recommended for the modification of emulsion adhesives.

KURARAY POVAL™ 17-94 NA by Kuraray is a water-soluble, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) fully saponified grade manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It exhibits high molecular weight, good cohesion, good adhesion to fibers-, fillers- and pigments. It affects the extension of the open time, increase of the setting speed and influence on the rheology. It is biodegradable and recyclable. KURARAY POVAL™ 17-94 NA is used in producing silicon base paper that are further used as release paper for PSA labels and also in remoistenable adhesives which are employed mainly in the paper processing industry, films applications.

Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 29-99 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. This grade is suitable for use in postage stamps and labels.

Kuraray Poval™ 20-98LA by Kuraray is a water soluble, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. Exhibits high molecular weight, good cohesion, low ash (sodium acetate) content, good adhesion to fibers-, fillers- and pigments. KURARAY POVAL™ 20-98 LA is recommended for adhesive for flooring webs, PSA labels and also in remoistenable adhesives which are employed mainly in the paper processing industry, films applications.

KURARAY POVAL™ 32-80 by Kuraray is a biodegradable and recyclable polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) having varying degree of polymerization and hydrolysis. It is a water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It has good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity because PVAs have good cohesion and good adhesion to fibers, fillers as well as pigments. It possesses excellent film forming characteristics, high tensile strength and elasticity, as well as resistance against organic solvents and dispersing power. It is used in a similar manner as natural products such as casein as well as starch and its degraded derivatives (for example dextrin) as raw material to produce aqueous adhesive solution. For the modification of aqueous adhesives its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, increase of the setting speed and influence on the rheology. KURARAY POVAL™ 32-97 KL by Kuraray is a modified polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade with varying degrees of polymerization, hydrolysis and co-monomers. The carboxylate polymer exhibits strong hydrophilic property even at low degree of hydrolysis. Films produced from this grade are soft and flexible at 20°C, 65% RH and under high humidity. KURARAY POVAL™ 32-97 KL is recommended for use in adhesives.
