LAMATEK 15# Micro-Cellular Urethane Foam

Lamatek 15# Micro-Cellular Urethane Foam provide resilient impact and vibration absorption and can be easily compressed for sealing applications. These polyurethane foams are ideal for managing difficult tolerances and mount problems. With a low compression set, LS foams provide shock control and cushioning while maintaining constant gasketing, padding and sealing.

Features & Benefits

Product Overview

The energy from the constant vibration and heat of running parts in machinery and equipment can cause a lot of wear and tear. In addition to being highly shock absorbent, these durable foams also provide flame and chemical resistance in extreme environments. 3M™ ISOLOSS™ LS foams provide strength and longevity in applications, even in temperatures ranging from -40°F (-40°C) to 225°F (107.2°C).

Benefits
  • Large range of deflection forces
  • High internal strength
  • Good chemical stability
  • Repels water and moisture
  • Has good non-slip properties
  • Tolerates extreme weather
  • Won’t crack in the cold
  • Has a wide range of uses
  • Rubber adhesive bonds right away
Features
  • Resilient foam takes low compression set
  • Offers effective vibration isolation
  • Comparable to Poron® high density urethane
  • Outstanding shock and impact absorption
  • Micro-cellular 3M™ ISOLOSS™ LS foam
  • High flame and chemical resistance
  • Remains flexible in hot and cold conditions
  • Withstands temperatures from -40 to 225 °F
  • Provides excellent cushioning
Specifications
  • Fine-celled, low compression-set, high density polyurethane foam

Technical Details & Test Data

When is LS™ Foam Not Recommended?

Despite the microcellular structure which appears to be closed cell, LS is an open cell foam. Outdoor enclosures that are subjected to rain and temperature extremes may not be sealed properly with LS gaskets. Conditions where LS may be flexed or repeatedly compressed and relaxed in standing water may cause water to be wicked into the gasket. Temperatures below -20°F will cause LS to stiffen, and LS is not recommended for constant temperatures above 158°F. Outdoor conditions may be better served with silicone sponge or high grade neoprene or EPDM sponge materials.
