Kemectant EB3 is a humectant that can be used to protect the in-can drying of paint and coating formulations by maintaining a moist air gap at the top of the tin. Kemectant EB3 also exhibits properties to help improve the freeze-thaw stability of aqueous pigment dispersions.

    Applications & Uses

    • Kemectant EB3 is a powerful processing aid for pigment dispersions, inks and paints.
    • For formulations containing inorganic pigments up to 70% the addition and processing of all the components including Kemectant EB3 can be achieved by high speed/shear mixer.
    • For organic pigments up to 55% we recommend further processing with a bead mill or triple roll mill to achieve maximum strength and required particle size.

    Storage & Handling

    Storage Information

    Stainless steel, polyethylene or glass lined equipment is necessary for the storage of Kemectant EB3 in order to prevent corrosion and subsequent contamination. This material can separate on standing and at low temperatures. May require agitation and warming prior to use.
