Polymerization of ethylene
- LQ-K is an efficient initiator for the ethylene polymerization under high pressure in both autoclave and tubular processes. To obtain a wide spectrum of polymerization temperatures, combinations with other peroxides are applied in practice. Depending on reaction conditions. LQ-K is active in the temperature range of 150-190℃.
Polymerization of vinylchloride
- LQ-K is used as an initiator for the suspension and mass polymerization of vinylchloride between 50℃ and 70℃.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Half Life Data
The reactivity of an organic peroxide is usually given by its half life (t1/2) at various temperatures. For LQ-K in chlorobenzene:
- t at 0.1 hr = 96℃
- t at 1 hr = 77℃
- t at10 hr = 59℃
- Main Decomposition Product
Carbon dioxide, 2,2,4,7,9,9-hexamethyldecane, 2,4,4-Trimethylpentane
Packaging & Availability
- Packing and Transportation
- The standard packaging is a 25-liter HDPE can for 20 kg peroxide solution. Both packaging and transport meet the international regulations.
- LQ-K is classified as Organic peroxide type D, liquid, temperature controlled; Division 5.2; UN 3115; PG II.
- Rail (RID) and air (ICAO-TI/IATA-DGR) transport are forbidden.
Storage & Handling
- Storage
LQ-K Ts max. = 0℃ and Ts min. = -10℃ to prevent crystallization. When stored according to these recommended storage conditions, LQ-K will remain within our plant specifications for a period of at least three months after delivery.
