Laurel Products was founded in 2001 by Michael Coates, PhD. After validating a unique processing method, a patent was issued that encompassed a means of pinning hydrophilic molecules on the surface of fluoropolymers. Essentially, it made the hydrophobic fluoropolymer hydrophilic, thereby aiding its dispersion into aqueous and other polar solvents. This concept eventually was commercialized to become the Laurel product grade known as Ultraflon UF-8TA.

The success of UF-8TA reinforced the fact that there was a market need for more highly developed, customized additives. Clearly, off-the-shelf solutions were not solving the market demands for innovative additives. Additives were needed that pushed the performance envelope. Embracing this concept of innovative additives, Laurel Products was formed and has grown steadily ever since due to its competitive pricing, performance-driven product developments, and best-in-class service levels.

In fact, Laurel has only specified less than 3% of the resins available on the market today, as very few resins meet our stringent quality standard.But quality does not stop there. Applying rigorous Six Sigma processing methodology, Laurel’s processing ensures that variations in the product are reduced to a minimum. Marzon

Marzon 110 is a premium, loosely agglomerated PTFE additive. Marzon 110 offers a uniquely spherical primary particle morphology. The product is designed to be friable, which means it breaks down to its primary particle size under low shear. The mean primary particle size is 250 nanometers, while the secondary particle size is 500 microns on average.

Ultraflon MP-10 is a granular-based PTFE additive, and characterized by its proven versatility in a broad spectrum of applications. It possesses an average particle size of 10 microns. Because of Laurel's unique thermal treatment process, it exhibits best-in-class thermal stability. As a result, off-gassing is mitigated and compatibility with various polymer matrices is optimized. Laurel's exacting manufacturing process ensures that the molecular weight of MP-10 is extremely precise. resulting in unsurpassed consistency in performance.

Ultraflon MP-55 is a coagulated dispersion-based PTFE powder additive, characterized by comparatively lower molecular weight. It possesses an agglomerated particle size of 4 microns, but breaks down to its primary particle size of 300 nanometers upon shearing. This allows MP- 55 to exhibit an extremely high surface area after processing, impacting viscosities. Moreover, the primary particles are engineered to be spherical, which makes MP-55 particularly well suited as an additive for lubricants.

Ultraflon FP-15 series represent premium, fluorinated ethylene-propylene powder (FEP) additives. FP-15 is characterized by moderately high molecular weight. It demonstrates a lower melt flow index (MFI) when compared to the Ultraflon FP-20, but higher than that of FP-IO. FP-15 is manufactured from ultra-high purity FEP, and micronized in clean conditions to preserve its pristine form.

Ultraflon MP-25 is a coagulated dispersion-based PTFE powder additive, characterized by comparatively high molecular weight. It possesses an agglomerated particle size of 4 microns, but breaks down to its primary particle size of 300 nanometers upon shearing. This allows MP- 25 to exhibit an extremely high surface area after processing, impacting viscosities. Moreover, the primary particles are engineered to be spherical, which makes MP-25 particularly well suited as an additive for lubricants

Ultraflon AD-10A are colloidal aqueous dispersions of PTFE particles, stabilized with environmentally-conscious, PFOA-free surfactants. Ultraflon AD-I OA is a dispersion made up of nanometric-sized PTFE particles suspended in purified water, with a proprietary additive to improve adhesion to substrates such as glass, plastic, and metal. The PTFE solids comprise approximately 60% by weight. The dispersion is engineered to exhibit a very narrow particle size distribution, yielding consistent, uniform performance. The resulting film formation from AD-IOA may be considered semi-permanent due to the proprietary adhesion-promoting chemistry.

Ultraflon AD-10A

Ultraflon MP-00 is a granular-based PTFE additive, and characterized by its extraordinarily high molecular weight / particle size ratio. It an average particle size of 4 microns. Because of its unique molecular structure, it readily fibrillates upon shearing. The of high molecular weight and small particle size position it superbly well as a wear- reducing and friction-modifying additive.

Ultraflon MP-8T is a granular-based PTFE powder additive, and characterized by its narrow particle size distribution and particle uniformity. It possesses an average particle size of 3 microns. Because of Laurel's unique thermal treatment process, it exhibits superior thermal stability. As a result, off-gassing is mitigated and compatibility with various polymer matrices is optimized. Laurel's exacting manufacturing process ensures that the molecular weight of MP- 8T is extremely precise, resulting in unsurpassed consistency in performance.

Marzon X-55 utilizes Laurel's proprietary thermal particle polishing processing technique. This results in a remarkably uniform particle with uniquely high powder bulk density. As a result, the flow and handling characteristics of Marzon X-55 surpass those of other standard PTFE micropowders. Because of its high particle density, in many cases greater efficacy can be achieved at lower mass loadings when compared to standard additives
