Technical Details & Test Data
- Science
- Microorganisms living in Aber Wrac’h estuary (Brittany, France) withstand extreme environments, like high gradients of salinity, pH, temperature, oxygen, and light, from the merging of salty sea water and fresh river and rain water.
- Marine ᵧ-proteobacteria strains on the macroalgae Laminaria secrete exopolysaccharides (EPS), with interand intra-cellular signaling functions to increase their survival and help the colony.
- Hyanify™ marine ingredient is an EPS that induces the synthesis of hyaluronic acid (HA), a glycosaminoglycan which is a major compound of the extracellular matrix. Aging alters the balance of HA synthesis and degradation, therefore HA availability is decreased, leading to dehydration and volume loss. Hyanify™ marine ingredient provides support and volume to the skin, reducing nasolabial folds appearance.
- In Vitro Efficacy
Hyluranic acid induction:
Human dermal fibroblasts were treated with 1 mg/mL Hyanify™ marine ingredient concentrate and the induction of HA was measured by means of an ELISA.
66% increase of HA synthesis Hyanify™ marine ingredient produced a statistically significant induction at the tested concentration.
- In Vivo Efficacy
Nasogenian folds improvement
19 volunteers between 44 - 56 years old with nasolabial folds of moderate intensity applied a cream containing 1% Hyanify™ marine ingredient twice a day, focusing on the nasogenian folds, for 28 days.
Skin topography was evaluated before the first application and after 14 and 28 days by fast optical in vivo topometry of human skin (FOITS).
Excellent improvement in wrinkle appearance : The maximum improvement observed among individual volunteers was 70.6% for the maximum wrinkle depth and 71.4% for the average wrinkle depth after 28 days.
Visibly reduced nasogenian folds. Rejuvenating effect:
