Science
The sun is a natural source of UV, blue and infrared (IR) light that induce photoaging. Blue light can also be artificially emitted by screens from electronic devices and can negatively impact our skin. To protect itself from light-induced damage, the skin adapts by developing biological mechanisms that increase resistance to light. But, how does the skin detect light? Opsins, which are the main photoreceptors of the eye with a key role in light perception, have also been detected on the skin. They could allow the skin to act as a sensory system for light, helping increase its alertness and protection.
Lumicease blue ingredient activates opsins on the skin and promotes adaptive responses, such as the induction of lipid accumulation, DNA repair pathways and antioxidant defenses, which help prepare the skin for the future exposure to light. It prepares, protects and repairs the skin from solar and artificial blue light-induced damage and minimizes the main signs of photoaging, spots and wrinkles.- Sustainability
By sponsoring a local NGO and implementing fermentation techniques, Lubrizol is taking action to preserve the aquatic environment in the native region where the microorganism grows.
