Science : Oily skin, shininess, enlarged pores, inflammation and blemishes are common skin concerns around the world. Sebum production by sebocytes in sebaceous glands is regulated by several factors and receptors; for instance, melanocortins stimulate sebocyte differentiation and sebaceous lipid production by acting on melanocortin receptors like MC5-R.
Matmarine™ Biotech Ingredient reduces MC5-R levels, sebocytes differentiation and sebaceous lipid levels in vitro. It also helps to promote reductions in oxidative stress and inflammation, problems associated with excess sebum. In vivo testing on the skin of females of different ethnicities showed a decrease in sebum levels and in the appearance of pores. An immediate and long-lasting mattifying effect occurred when a BB cream containing Matmarine™ biotech ingredient was applied. When the product was tested in males, it resulted in a reduction in the appearance of pores and an increase in skin moisture levels.
