Science

Stretch marks are a common disfiguring condition associated with continuous and progressive stretching of the skin. Their dimensions vary between 2 and 10 mm in width and some cm in length and are characterized by linear, smooth bands of atrophic-appearing skin that are reddish at first and finally white. Collagen and elastin are significantly reduced in striae and the dermal matrix appears looser and more floccular. Stretch marks appear as a result of multifactorial process that vanistryl® functional ingredient tackles effectively. It inhibits the degradation of the extracellular matrix components ECM), reduces tension in the dermis and furthermore thanks to its healing properties helps to regenerate the dermal components, thus giving the integrity and elasticity that skin needs to recover. The ingredients of vanistryl® functional ingredient are encapsulated into a mixed micellar system which is reconstituted into liposomes by water dilution in the stratum corneum, improving the penetration of these actives.
