- Basic Uses
- As a binder in sand-filled epoxy mortars for use as a patching material or joint nosing.
- The binder is extended with silica sand 1:3 by volume.
- As a base resin in membrane systems used both to encapsulate wear-resistant aggregates and as a lock coat.
- As an overlay with aggregate, to provide traction and wear resistance to concrete floors.
- Filled with silica sand, aluminum oxide or other suitable wear-resistant filler.
- Meets ASTM C881 Type III, Grade I, Class B.
- Limitations
- Iso-Flex 200 Epoxy should be installed above 40°F.
- Keep from freezing.
- Mixing Instructions
- Parts A and B should be mixed separately before combining.
- When combined mix thoroughly with A low speed motor and "Jiffy" paddle.
- Always scrape the container sides and paddle blades.
- Do not aerate the mix.
- Mix ratio is 1:1.
- Installation
- Shotblasting must be employed to provide a sound, clean substrate.
- In areas where shot blasting is not feasible, consult the manufacturer for other methods of surface preparation.
- Apply Iso-Flex 200 Epoxy to a dry surface.
Epoxy Mortars:
- A prime coat of Iso-flex 200 Epoxy should be applied.
- While still tacky place the aggregate filled Iso-Flex 200 Epoxy mortar and screed or trowel to the desired thickness.
- Do not over trowel and ensure proper termination and edge detail.
Membrane Systems:
- The Iso-Flex 200 Epoxy Resin should be applied over the basecoat, aggregate is then broadcast into the resin and allowed to cure.
- The resin thickness, aggregate type/size and amount is specified elsewhere within a specific Iso-Flex system.
Concrete Overlay:
- Apply the Iso-Flex 200 Epoxy over the prepared surface using roller, notched squeegee, or spray equipment.
- Apply at 40/50 ft2 /gallon.
- Immediately broadcast 16/30 mesh clean, dry aggregate to full saturation, approximately 1 1/2 lbs./ ft2.
- After the binder has cured broom or blow off excess aggregate and apply a lock coat of Iso-Flex 200 Epoxy at 100 ft2 /gallon.
- Multiple aggregate-filled coats can be applied to increase thicknesses.
- Maintenance
- Iso-Flex 200 Epoxy Resin will provide a long, effective service life when properly used.
- Damaged areas may be repaired in the field using methods approved by the manufacturer.
