Makwell Plasticizers Chlorinated Paraffin

Makwell is one of the oldest manufacturers of Makwell Plasticizers Chlorinated Paraffin in India (since 1965). In the early years, chlorinated paraffin waxes acquired a reputation for poor color and low thermal stability. However, by employing modern chlorination techniques and the use of straight-chain liquid paraffin feedstock, chlorinated products are now produced which are water white and have properties comparable to those of the phthalate plasticizers.

Applications
  • Within the makchlor range are six grades, which are specifically recommended for PVC applications. This grade can be used as sole plasticizers in relatively hard products, such as flooring compounds, but they are more normally used as partial replacements for phthalate or phosphate primary plasticizers.
  • Their use in PVC compounds gives significant savings in raw material costs. The properties of finished compounds are not impaired and the flame retardance may be improved when makchlor is included in the vinyl composition. The use of chlorinated paraffin secondary plasticizers is straightforward and provided that the compatibility limits are not exceeded, no oxidation occurs.
  • The above specification is based on the CP manufactured from the high cut of paraffin's (HNP). However, we can also supply CP from the lower cut of parffin's (NP) suiting your requirements & customize products for various applications.
