Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP is a two-component, transparent, low-yellowing epoxy formulate with 100% solids content according to a formulation developed in the MAPEI Research & Development laboratories.
Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP is suitable for making highly attractive, decorative floors and for treating the surface of finishes and, apart from making floors more resistant, it also creates a “lens effect” on the surface.
Once Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP has hardened, surfaces have good resistance to chemical products and abrasion, are resistant to alcohol and diluted alkalis and are also easy to clean.

- Where to Use
Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP is used to finish off decorative floors in civil environments subjected to pedestrian traffic such as shops and hotel lobbies. Thanks to its impermeability to liquids and resistance to chemical products and abrasion, Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP may also be used to finish off decorative floors in restaurants, bars, show-rooms, etc.
- Some Application Examples
- Self-leveling transparent finish for decorative floors in shopping centers.
- Making decorative floors in boutiques, show-rooms, restaurants and beauty parlors.
- Making decorative floors in hotel lobbies.
- Recommendations
- Do not apply Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP if the temperature is lower than +10°C or higher than +30°C.
- Do not go over the surface of Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP with a bubble-breaker.
- Do not apply Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP on damp substrates or on substrates with capillary rising damp (please contact our Technical Services Department).
- Do not dilute Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP with solvent or water.
- Do not apply Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP on dusty or crumbling substrates.
- Do not apply Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP on substrates with oil or grease stains or stains in general.
- Do not mix partial quantities of the components to avoid mixing errors; the product may not harden correctly.
- Do not expose the mixed product to sources of heat.
- If rooms where the product is being used need to be warmed up do not use heaters that burn hydrocarbons, otherwise the carbon dioxide and water vapor given off into the air will affect the shine on the finish and ruin its appearance. Use electric heaters only.
- Remove aggressive chemicals as soon as possible after they come into contact with Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP.
- Use suitable specific cleaning equipment and detergent to clean the product, depending on the type of dirt or stain to be removed.
- Protect the product from water for at least 24 hours after application.
- The temperature of the substrate must be at least 3°C higher than the dew-point temperature.
- Application Procedure
Preparing the substrate
The surface to be treated must be sound and free from dust, dirt, wax, oil and any other material which could affect the finish of the product. Before applying the product, remove all dust from the surface using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
Preparation and application of the product
- Pour component B (hardener) into component A (resin) and mix for around 3 minutes with a drill at low speed with a mixing attachment (300-400 revs/min) to form an even paste.
- Pour the mix into a clean container and briefly mix again.
- Do not mix the product for too long to prevent entraining too much air into the mix. Then apply Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP with a No. 7 notched trowel to form a coat around 1 mm thick.
- Do not apply more than the recommended thickness of product. Thicker coats reduce the three-dimensional effect of the transparent finishing coat on the floor and alter its final effect, giving it a matt finish.
- Apply the mix within the pot life indicated in the table (refers to a temperature of +20°C). Higher surrounding temperatures will reduce the pot life of the mix, while lower temperatures will increase its pot life.
Cleaning
Clean tools used to prepare and apply Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP with methylated spirits immediately after use. Once hardened, the product may only be removed using mechanical means.
- Consumption
Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP: approx. 1.1 kg/m² to form a 1 mm thick coat.

Safety & Health
- Safety Instructions for the Preparation and Application
Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP component A may irritate the eyes and skin. Components A and B may cause sensitisation in those subjects sensitive to such substances.
Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP component B is corrosive and it may cause serious burns. The product contains low molecular weight epoxy resins that may cause sensitisation if cross-contamination occurs with other epoxy compounds.
When applying the product, we recommend the use of protective gloves and goggles and to take the usual precautions for handling chemical products. If the product comes into contact with the eyes or skin, wash immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention. When the material reacts it generates a high amount of heat. We recommend applying the product as soon as possible after mixing components A and B and to never leave the container unattended until it is completely empty.
Furthermore, Mapefloor I 300 SL TRP components A and B are also hazardous for aquatic life. Do not dispose of these products in the environment.
