It is a normal zinc soap of Stearic Acid and find users in many industries. It is water repellent by nature and insoluble in alcohol & ether but soluble in acids.

    Applications
    • Rubber: Used as dusting powders to prevent sticking of unvulanised rubber sheet. As an additive in rubber compounds to improve flow and dispersion of vulcanising agent throught the compound.
    • Plastics: Internal lubricants and mold release agents for Polystyrene, Phenolics, Polyolefins, Nylon, Melamine Master Batches and Urea
    • Polyester (SMC/DMC): Lubricant and mold release
    • Abbrasives: As a component in the coating of abrasive papers and sanding sealers.
    • Coatings: As a flatting agent in certain Paints,Varnishes and Lacquers
    • Printing Inks: Acts as dulling agent
    • PVC Compounds: Zinc Stearate is a mild Stabilizer and cannot be used alone, mixtures with other Stabilizers particularly Alkaline Earth Metal Stearates with Epoxy Stabilizers is quit effective. This is non toxic and non sulfur stainings. Hence blends with Calcium Stearate are specially usefull in non toxic FDA approved compounds.
