- How to Apply
Surface Preparation:
- Concrete substrates must be fully cured (28 days), clean, and sound; they can be dry or damp but with no standing water.
- Remove all grease, oil, chemical contamination, dust, laitance, and loose concrete by mechanical profiling to ICRI CSP 4 to provide a sound substrate.
- Complete all necessary repairs prior to application and allow surface to reach loadbearing strength.
Mixing:
- Precondition all components to 70°F (21°C) for 24 hours before using.
- If the entire kit of MasterEmaco P 130 will not be used, smaller quantities can be mixed in the ratio of 2:1 (A:B) Mix ratios are critical; measure carefully.
- Premix each of the components thoroughly, until homogeneous, using a Jiffy paddle attached to a low-speed (400-600 rpm) heavy-duty drill.
- In a separate mixing vessel add Part A, then Part B. Stir until uniform in color without streaks, approximately 3 minutes.
- Scrape the sides of the containers, removing as much material as possible to ensure correct mixing ratios.
Application:
- Brush, squeegee, or roll the mixed MasterEmaco P 130 onto the prepared concrete surface.
- Take care to avoid puddling in depression.
- If the primer is absorbed within 30 minutes, apply a second coat. If the primer becomes contaminated, it must be sanded and reapplied.
- Apply MBT protective coatings after the primer is tack free, approximately 3-4 hours.
- The maximum recoat time is 48 hours.
- Clean Up
- Clean equipment immediately after use with xylene.
- Clean hands and skin immediately with soap and water, industrial hand cleaner, or denatured alcohol.
- Cured material must be removed mechanically.
- For Best Performance
- Minimum air, substrate, and material application temperature is 50°F.
- Lower temperatures will significantly slow curing time. Do not apply if the temperature exceeds 90°F.
- Large quantities of mixed material and high ambient temperatures will reduce pot life significantly.
- For professional use only; not for sale to or use by the general public.
- Make certain the most current versions of the product data sheet and SDS are being used.
- Proper application is the responsibility of the user.
- Field visits by Master Builders Solutions personnel are to make technical recommendations only and are not for supervising or providing quality control on the job site.
- Yield
