Change in skin flurorescent AGEs (**:pP<0.01)
- Mechanism of Action
Research in normal human fibroblasts found that sakura extract (in particular, its two bioactive components: caffeoyl glucose and quercetin glucoside) inhibits the production of AGEs in a dose-dependent fashion. In addition, sakura extract preserves the longevity of fibroblasts and promotes the production of collagen and the formation of collagen lattice.
Safety & Health
- Safety
Cherry blossoms are edible and are used as a food ingredient in Japan, especially as part of spring celebrations. Sakura extract has been tested for the presence of pesticides, toxicity, mutagenesis, and skin and eye irritation and has been found to be highly safe.
