- Product Overview
Lactoferrin Benefits:
- Has strong antioxidant properties
- May provide protection against certain fungal, viral or bacterial infections
Lactoferrin’s ability to protect from some infections is due to it’s ability to:
- Damage pathogens e.g. breakdown their cell walls
- “Starve” them of essential nutrients
- Send signals to trigger an immune response
Lactoferrin supports iron absorption
Iron is an essential mineral that our bodies need. Iron’s main role is to help carry oxygen in your red blood cells to help produce energy. It also helps to remove carbon dioxide.
Iron can also play a role in immunity by:
- Supporting cytokine (immune signally proteins) production & function
- Helping to kill or inactive pathogens
- Being a component of immune enzymes
- Supporting immune cell growth & development.
Iron can also act as an antioxidant, to support your body’s ability to handle stress and inflammation.
