- Particle Size Information
- 90% of the micron-sized salt crystals measure from 0.2 to 0.6 μm (microns).
- MicroSalt®´s magic: the 0.2 μm sized particle can achieve the same saltiness level as one of 2 μm for a fraction of the mass. Hence, the saltiness peak levels achieved.
- This micron-sized particle has higher adhesion caused by electrostatic forces. Hence, the particle attaches perfectly well to the product, driving minimum precipitation. It has the challenge that it needs to be applied evenly as it will stay stuck to the first surface that it touches.
- The 0.2 μm sized particle is extremely small and light. Maltodextrin is just acting as a carrier aid to help this particle weight so it can be handled, avoiding clouding.
- Maltodextrin use as a carrier does not substantially add to the nutritional formula. It only adds 60-80 mg of carbohydrate per 28 g of product.
- MicroSalt® is as hydrophilic as regular salt particles. No anti-caking ingredient was added.
