Supersilk is an aluminum silicate mineral. It is characterized by its softness and platy or lamellar physical structure. Supersilk offers good dry brightness (whiteness) and chemical stability.

The main uses of Supersilk include:
- As an inert reinforcing filler in paints, coatings, sealants, mastics and grouts.
- As a pitch (or stickies) absorbent in the production of paper pulp fiber.
