ShieldSys™ 197S can not overcoated with other coatings because of its extremely low-surface energy and tightly crosslinked surface. Therefore ShieldSys™ 197S is intended as a protective top-coat. It can also be used to seal freshly prepared metal surfaces. Our surface sealer will protect the metal from corrosion, oxidation, marring, and chipping. The fully cured film is highly inert and resistant to stains from oils, greases, chemicals, and industrial soot. ShieldSys 197S can be used to seal fresh concrete surface or other porous materials, providing waterproofing and stain-resistance.
Intended originally as a high-performance surface sealer, ShieldSys™ 197S has found numerous application as a protective coating for extruders, metal cable and wire, and on rubber gaskets and sleeves used in vulcanized rubber operations
