Minerios Ouro Branco Calcined Kaolin 0B-2940 is a synthetically modified mineral, manufactured from the calcination of natural kaolin (aluminum silicate). After the calcination process, its crystalline form is modified due to the loss of crystalline water from the molecule, leaving the material whiter, more opaque and abrasive. Inorganic material, chemically inert and benefited in low granulometry.

    • Paint applications : Calcined kaolin is a product of high whiteness and hiding power, it gives a more uniform surface finish because it is a micronized product.Its adsorption capacity promotes better adhesion between the particles and the polymer improving the resistance to washability (or abrasion test).The high brightness and covering power of calcined kaolin promotes it to be used as an extender of titanium dioxide in the various paint formulations, mainly in enamel, water-based and flexographic paints.
    • Plastics application : In the production of compounds, it is used as a filler, improving performance in terms of dielectric properties, mainly in plastics intended for the production of wires, cables and electrical materials. In the production of masterbatches it is widely used as an extender for titanium dioxide.
    • Rubber application : Used as a load in the manufacture of high quality rubber, improving the mechanical resistance to pressure, cohesion and increasing the resistance to friction.
    • Abrasive application : Material used as an abrasive in fine polishing products, replacing calcined alumina in the production of automotive abrasive pastes and waxes.
    • General applications : It is used in the manufacture of ceramics, in the manufacture of soaps, portland cement, plaster load for walls, etc.
    • Rubbers, polymers, PVC compounds and building materials.
