CoatOSil™ MP 200 silane promotes adhesion in a broad range of applications via multiple epoxy and silane groups on each oligomer chain. Its gamma-gylcidoxy propyl epoxide ring reacts with many organic groups while its alkoxy silane groups promote adhesion to inorganic substrates. Condensation of its silanol groups can also provide crosslinks between polymer chains.

CoatOSil™ T-Cure Silane Oligomer may be useful in the development of coating formulations where reactivity with a mercapto silane is desired. This patented oligomer is low in odor compared to standard mercapto silanes and can display a trio of reactive chemistries. In addition to thiol groups, silanol and diols are generated upon the hydrolysis of the silane. It behaves as a reactive diluent within a coating formulation, and is recommended for industrial maintenance applications, automotive, appliance, and coil applications; epoxy primers for metals and flooring, and aurospace and automotive refinishing applications.

Silquest™ A-1100 silane coupling agent, gamma- Aminopropyltriethoxysilane, a versatile amino-functional coupling agent may be an excellent candidate for use in a range of broad applications to provide superior bonding between inorganic substrates and organic polymers.

Silquest™ VS-604 silane typically provides excellent performance in the potentially cost-effective production of moisture crosslinkable silylated polyolefin compounds. It is a modified vinyltrimethoxysilane that may be considered for use in the manufacture of pipe, wire and cable and industrial goods.

Silquest™ A-178 silane is a coupling agent for glass fiber and particulate filler reinforced composites. It is a 100% active methacrylamido functional silane that may be used to promote adhesion between a wide range of resins and substrates and reinforcements. It is also useful as a monomer in the synthesis of organic polymers. It functions as a moisture- activated crosslinking agent.

Silquest™ A-1230 is a proprietary nonionic silane dispersing agent. Acts as reactive wetting and dispersing agent. It provides moisture-initiated crosslinking of resins, improved wet adhesion, flexibility, improved chemical resistance, weatherability, rheology and durability. Has no organic reactivity and it is a hydrophilic modifier. Used in SMC, excellent dispersion in WB system for fillers and pigments.

Silquest™ A-187 silane is specially formulated for use as an adhesion promoter in SPUR + * prepolymer, urethane, epoxy, polysulfide, silicone and acrylic systems for caulks, coatings, sealants and adhesives. Its epoxy functionality allows Silquest™ A-187 silane to perform as a durable epoxy ring that is reactive with many organic functions. It also offers non-yellowing adhesion in many resin systems and has proven to increase the flexibility of systems when compared to other adhesion promoters under certain conditions.

Silquest™ A-171 silane offers vinyl and silane functionality and also can be utilized for chain extension of RTV silicones or OH functional polymers. This results in Si-O-Si crosslink sites that are highly resistant to the effects of exposure to moisture, chemicals and UV rays. As a siloxane crosslinker, Silquest™ A-171 silane typically does not generate color and is resistant to acid rain under most conditions. This silane is also useful as a moisture scavenger in moisture cure systems where improved shelf life is desired.

Silquest™ A-186 silane adhesion promoter, can result in better electrical and/or mechanical properties in a variety of applications and industries. From enhancing electronic encapsulants to enabling improved sealant formulations, Silquest™ A-186 silane provides both epoxy and silane functionalities that promote adhesion in a range of formulations, including SPUR+ prepolymer, urethane, epoxy, silicone, and acrylic caulks, coatings, sealants and adhesives.

Enhancing the physical properties of water-borne dispersion polymers, such as polyurethane and acrylic latexes, CoatOSil™ 2287 silane enables the formulation of coatings with good shelf stability, improved wet adhesion and enhanced resistance to water and organic solvents. This non-yellowing additive can be considered as an adhesion promoter or crosslinker.

Silquest™ A-Link 25 silane and Silquest™ A-Link 35 silane are unique isocyanate functional silanes. The isocyanate functionality exhibits the typical reactivity of an alkyl isocyanate and will react with most active hydrogen containing compounds. The silane portion of these products can then crosslink with each other or be used to adhere to a variety of substrates.

Silquest™ A-1120N(beta-aminoethyl) gamma-aminopropyltrimethoxy-silane is diamino func tional silanes that may be used over a broad range of applications. They are used to promote the adhesion of amino-reactive resins such as silicone, silylated polyurethane, two-part urethanes and two-part epoxies to inorganic surfaces, plastic surfaces, and inorganic fillers or reinforcements.

Silquest™ VS 142 Silane is a high purity, amino-alkyl-silane solution in water, and as such provides the performance of aminoalkylsilane esters such as Silquest™* A-1100 Silane, in a convenient prehydrolyzed form. Silquest™ VS 142 silane can be easily diluted with water and does not contain alcohol. and Resilency.

Silquest™ VX-225 silane is an amino-functional oligosiloxane adhesion promoter that may be considered for use over a broad range of adhesives and sealants applications.

Silquest™ A-189 silane chemically bonds reinforcing minerals such as silica, clay, mica and talc to the polymer matrix. This silane is especially useful in sulfur-cured and metal oxide-cured elastomers. It can be used as a pretreatment on minerals or added at the time of compounding.Improvement in mineral-filled elastomer properties, including modulus, tensile and tear strength, heat buildup, abrasion resistance, resilience, compression set and cure time may be achieved with Silquest™ A-189 silane (gamma-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane).

Silquest™ A-Link 15 silane may be used for use as an endcapper or crosslinker for isocyanate functional prepolymer systems. This product provides improved thermal and UV stability over previous secondary amino silane endcappers. Silquest™ A-Link 15 silane can also be utilized as an adhesion promoter in silicone, hybrid, urethane, and epoxy adhesives and sealants.

Silquest™ Y-11699 silanes are secondary aminofunctional bis-silanes. This category of silanes is generally useful to consider for a broad range of applications to promote adhesion in coatings, adhesives and sealants between organic polymers and glass, metal, wood or cast plastic substrates.

Silquest™ A-174NT silane is a momentive performance materials, methacryloxy functional trimethoxy silane that finds utility in coating, composite and adhesive and sealant systems that cure via a free radical mechanism.

Silquest™ A-1106 silane is an aqueous solution of an aminoalkyl siloxane. This alcohol-free siloxane improves signifi- cantly the adhesion and coupling between organic resins and inorganic surfaces. Momentive Performance Materials Silquest™ A-1106 silane is most often used in aqueous systems where the alcohol of hydrolysis causes instability of the formulation or where a high flash point additive is required. The product also reduces volatile organic content (VOC) and does not contain hazardous air polluting substances (HAPS). These benefits are particularly useful to manufacturers seeking to reduce emissions from their water-borne products and processes.

CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can benefit from better adhesion, improved appearance, and longer retention of functional and esthetic properties. As a cycloaliphatic epoxy silane, CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can deliver crosslinking in latex under room or elevated temperature cure conditions. Through crosslinking, CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can improve the solvent, stain and weather resistance of the final coating.

Silquest™ A-1120, N(beta-aminoethyl) gamma-aminopropyltrimethoxy- silane, and Silquest™ A-2120, N(beta-aminoethyl) gamma aminopropylmethyldimethoxy-silane, are diaminofunctional silanes that may be used over a broad range of applications. They are used to promote the adhesion of amino-reactive resins such as silicone, silylated polyurethane, two-part urethanes and two-part epoxies to inorganic surfaces, plastic surfaces, and inorganic fillers or reinforcements.

Silquest™ silane Y-9669 combines phenyl and amino functionality in the same molecule.It is an extremely effective adhesion promoter for many filled and reinforced resin systems. Silquest™ silane Y-9669 is a versatile adhesion promoter, particularly for resin systems that will react with a secondary amino group, such as isocyanates, acrylates, epoxies, phenolics and RTV silicones. This silane is especially useful when the resulting material must withstand higher temperatures; e.g., in phenolic resin/fiberglass composites.

Silquest™* A-137 silane is a monomeric alkylalkoxysilane that, when exposed to moisture, is reactive with minerals contained in concrete, masonry and other substrates. The monomer can penetrate deeply into a substrate, and then react to form an extremely durable protective surface surrounding each microscopic particle.

Silquest™ A-1871 Epoxy Silane is a gamma-Glycidoxypropyltriethoxysilane. Acts as adhesion promoter. This epoxy functional silane provides outstanding chemical resistance, mechanical properties, improved adhesion to glass and metal substrates. It also provides crosslinking of waterborne latexes and dispersions; acrylic, styrene acrylic or other copolymers, polyurethane or epoxy dispersions. Has enhanced electrical properties of epoxy based electronic encapsulants and packaging materials, resulting from improved bonding between resin, substrate or filler. Improved wet adhesion reduces the risk of semiconductor or integrated circuit failure as a result of water ingress or surface corrosion. It also has improved dry adhesion and tensile strength. Use of epoxy silane may avoid the yellowing sometimes seen when amino functional adhesion promoters are used and it also has improved shelf stability over aminosilane alternatives. It is used in caulking applications.

Silquest™ A-1524 is a 100% active ureidosilane, silane which is specially formulated to promote superior adhesion across a wide range of applications including resins, substrates, fillers and reinforcements. Being 100% active, Silquest™ A-1524 silane contains no alcohol or other solvent diluent. These traits make Silquest™ A-1524 silane an excellent choice for use in reactive polymer systems such as isocyanate-terminated polyurethane polymers. With its methoxysilane ester reactive groups, Silquest™ A-1524 silane exhibits fast hydrolysis of the silane ester group.

Silquest™ A-1170 is a Amino bis-silanes can be effective in reacting with epoxy, urethane, melamine, polyimide, phenolic and furan thermosetting resins, as well as many thermoplastics, such as polyamides and polyesters. Silquest™ A-1170 silane offers a fast cure time and/or rapid adhesion build. Because of its higher purity grade, Silquest™ A-1170 silane is an excellent candidate to consider for use in applications that demand low color and greater control of reaction stoichiometry. Silquest™ A-1170 silane is a versatile silane, and it may be added directly to polymers during system formulation or used independently as a primer.

Silquest™ Y-9627 is secondary aminofunctional bis-silanes. This category of silanes is generally useful to consider for a broad range of applications to promote adhesion in coatings, adhesives and sealants between organic polymers and glass, metal, wood or cast plastic substrates. Typically, they can function as coupling agents to particulate mineral fillers in composites, as in foundry molds and cores, to improve mechanical properties such as tensile and flexural strengths. These property improvements have been maintained in the presence of aggressive environments, such as high temperature and high humidity conditions.

Silquest™ A-151 silane (vinyltriethoxysilane) is a general-purpose coupling agent used with mineral-filled polyolefin and elastomeric compounds. Silquest™ A-151 silane can be added as a monomer during emulsion polymerization to form silane-modified latexes that function as crosslinkers, forming very stable Si-O-Si linkages.

Silquest™ A-Link 597 silane functions as an adhesion promoter for a variety of substrate/matrix resin combinations. It is especially useful in high performance hot melt adhesives and other applications where exposure to sustained temperatures might occur.

Silquest™ A-Link 599 silane is a thiocarboxylate functional silane adhesion promoter that has low odor, low volatility and low mercapto reactivity until the thiocarboxylate is activated during application of the adhesive or sealant. Silquest™ A-Link 599 silane is a blocked mercaptosilane, wherein the octanoyl group blocks the sulfurfunctional part of the molecule. The octanoyl group gives improved solubility in many resin systems. It eliminates the usual mercapto odor during formulation, storage and initial application of a sealant. It further prevents the reaction or deactivation of the mercap- to group with tin and platinum catalysts. Finally, in the sealant application step, the octanoyl-blocking group hydrolyzes to give a reactive mercaptosilane that bonds between the resin and substrate.

Silquest™ A-1110 silane, a primary amino silane, is a candidate for use as an adhesion promoter in silane modified urethane (SPUR* prepolymer), filled silicone, epoxy and 2 part urethane adhesives and sealants.

The low viscosity o SPUR+™ 3040 prepolymer has shown it to be easy to formulate and use for the manufacture of adhesives. Many applications have benefited from the excellent heat resistance of SPUR+™ 3040 prepolymer in circumstances where thermal stability is required.

SPUR+™ 3030 prepolymer can enhance non-isocyanate moisture curable elastomeric roof coatings and waterproof membranes. Developed with outstanding fully cured properties and a wide formulation window. The proprietary design of SPUR+™ 3030 prepolymer can help yield an effective balance of physical and mechanical properties desired in roof coating formulations, and it has shown to improve upon the properties offered by conventional hybrid polymers.

SPUR+™ 1060 prepolymer is a plasticizer-free, ethoxysilane-modified resin used in the manufacture of one-part moisture-curing adhesives and sealants. It is an excellent material of choice as a base resin for medium modulus adhesives and sealants that serve a range of applications, particularly where HAPs emissions are a significant factor.
