Tarene 30 is a low-cost, dark, non-staining, thermoplastic oleo-resinous product having a naval stores base. The performance properties are comparable or superior to pine tar. Tarene 30 finds its widest application as a plasticizer, tackifier, and processing aid in rubber compounding. Other potential uses include adhesives, tar modifications, epoxy extension, coatings, mastics, and use as a low-cost acid for emulsions.
