When organic palm oil is cooled and filtered, the oil separates into organic palm olein (liquid) and organic palm stearin (solid) fractions. Palm stearin is a useful natural hard stock. Besides edible usage, palm stearin also possesses suitable properties for making soaps and formulating animal feeds. Organic palm stearin is solid at room temperature with a high melting point (48° C).
