NordFeed Wheat gluten feed is a fiber-rich ingredient, containing nutritious protein and starch, used in ruminant, swine, poultry feed and petfood.

Corn Gluten Meal (CGM) is a by-product of corn wet milling process and corn starch production. Corn Gluten Meal is a protein-rich feed, containing about 65% crude protein (DM), used as a source of protein, energy and pigments for livestock species including fish. It is also valued in pet food for its high protein digestibility. The product is golden yellow in color; and fine granular in its physical appearance. Due to its high protein content, Corn Gluten Meal is mostly used as a source of protein as a potential alternative to other plant or animal-based proteins, such as Soybean Meal, Meat and Bone Meal and Fish Meal. Corn Gluten Meal is also a source of energy, due to its high gross energy (23.1 MJ/kg DM) coupled with high energy digestibility (> 90% in ruminants and pigs). Corn Gluten Meal is particularly rich in yellow xanthophyll (between 200 and 500 mg/kg DM) that are useful for pigmentation in poultry.

While corn/maize bran theoretically consists of the bran coating removed in the early stages of processing, the corn/maize bran sold for livestock feeding is usually a mixture of the bran fraction and other by-products and is, therefore, a very loosely defined product of highly variable composition. In the case of ethanol production, corn/maize bran is defined as the mixture of the bran fraction and distillers solubles. In the starch extraction process, corn/maize bran is usually mixed with steep liquor to produce corn gluten feed. In the production of maize grits by the dry milling process, corn/maize bran is mixed with broken kernels, germ residue after oil extraction, and inseparable fractions of germ, pericarp and endosperm to produce hominy feed.

Corn Distiller's Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) are a commodity by-product of the distillation process of corn.This process starts with removing the bran by grinding before steeping the grain in water. This results in ethanol and various by-products. The wet cakes resulting from thisprocess are thendried off, resulting in the DDGS feed product. DDGS is a valuable feed ingredient, and has good levels of protein, moderate levels of fat, and lowlevels of fiber. DDGS can be feed to all types of livestock.

A good source of protein and energy through extrusion process with same excellent amino acid profile found in soybean meal is found in full-fat soybeans. Full Fat Soybean allows animal to consume more calories without eating more feed. In high energy demand situations such as chicken broiler, lactating cow, and lactating sow diets this extra energy can be quite valuable in boosting animal performance.

NordFeed Cotton seed meal is the by-product of oil extraction from cotton seeds. As a protein-rich feed, cottonseed meal is a common source of protein for ruminants. It can be a good source of protein for monogastrics provided that its limitations are taken into account, notably the fiber content and the presence of gossypol.

Corn Gluten Feed (CGF) is a by-product of corn wet-milling and starch production. CGF consists mainly of corn bran and corn steep liquor (liquid separated after steeping) but may also contain distillers solubles, germ meal, cracked maize screenings. The chemical composition of CGF varies, as it depends on the milling process and on the relative proportions of bran, steep liquor and other components. Its economic value depends upon the relative price of corn and protein feeds. CGF is darker brown in color, and is available as flakes or pellets. CGF is a major feed ingredient in ruminant diets, particularly for beef and dairy cattle as a source of energy and protein. CGF is a moderately high source of protein: it contains about 20-25% DM of protein, more than grains and milling by-products but less than CGM, DDGS and SBM. CGF is much richer in cell wall constituents than corn which tends to limit its use in pig and poultry diets. Corn gluten feed contains relatively high and quite variable amounts of residual starch, from 11% to more than 30% DM.

The residual liquid that is left over is an excellent source of energy for livestock. It also offers a valuable feed resource to the cattle industry and a sugary substrate for the yeast and fermentation industry. Beet Molasses is an excellent source of energy and a good source of protein and essential minerals for broiler, dairy and beef cattle. In growing and finishing diets, it can be added to dry rations or blended with other ingredients to produce a balanced liquid feed. For beef cattle, it can also be top-dressed to improve palatability of poor hay or silage. Molasses is also popular as an additive in salt licks and mineral supplements, assisting as both a sweetener and a binding ingredient.

Soybean hulls are a by-product of the extraction of oil from soybean seeds (Glycine max (L.) Merr.). After entering the oil mill, soybeans are screened to remove broken and damaged beans, and foreign material. The beans are then cracked, and their hulls, which mainly consist of the outer coats, are removed. Hulls are fibrous materials with no place in human food, but are very valuable for ruminants.
