North Metal & Chemical Methoxypropylamine (MOPA) is a clear, colorless, liquid, that is completely soluble in water, alcohols, ethers, acetone, etc. It is mainly used in the manufacture of disperse blue 60 and other dyes. When prepared as an amine soap, MOPA makes a good dispersion and emulsion of resins and waxes such as those used in water -based paint, as well as floor and textile finishes. It is also used in the anti-corrosion of petroleum, and as a detergent. MOPA compares favorably to Morpholine in water-insensitive waxes.

It is used as a corrosion inhibitor and water treatment agent. Its biological activity indicates that it has a possible application as a bactericide or fungicide. It is soluble in water, benzene, toluene, and chloroform, while also being miscible with lower percentage alcohol and ethylene glycol. Sodium benzotriazole 40% solution is commonly used as a corrosion inhibitor for yellow metal protection in cooling tower products, engine coolants, metal working fluids, inks and cleaners.

It is miscible with water and almost all common organic solvents. Cyclohexylamine is used as a corrosion inhibitor in boiler feed water and has important applications as a chemical intermediate in insecticides, dry-cleaning soaps, gas absorbents, rubber chemicals and plasticisers.
