Nutech Paints Asphalt Primer is specially designed for use on new and aged asphalt shingles. It contains wet adhesion binders and bleed-resistant additives to ensure superior adhesion, water resistance and topcoat finish. It provides an ideal surface for Nutech Paints roof coating systems including Tileflex and the NXT Range.

Application

Designed to seal and prime new or weathered asphalt singles.

Application Procedure

Apply Asphalt Primer with a brush, roller or airless spray system. One coat should be applied and allowed to fully dry before applying two coats of a Nutech Paints top coat.

Warnings
  • Ensure the surface is dry before applying the Asphalt Primer to avoid adhesion problems.
  • Do not apply Asphalt Primer in very cold conditions to avoid drying and film coalescence problems.
  • Do not coat with a top coating system until completely dry and cured.
  • Asphalt Primer should not be applied on a very hot surface.
Application Rate

1 coat at 250 - 320 ft2 per gallon.
