- Exterior Grade Waterproofing Membrane
NXT AquaGuard is an exterior grade, 100% waterproofing membrane design for application on the external surface to protect against water ingress and weathering. Based on a hybrid technology, NXT AquaGuard can be used on vertical and horizontal surfaces as a high strength weatherproof protective membrane with high build elastomeric functionality for general roofing substrates. NXT AquaGuard provides an excellent flexible protective coating to roofs with good anti-carbonation properties, breathability, and resistance to varying climatic conditions.
Nutech’s proprietary resin technology provides a hard yet flexible surface with nano-technology for added water breading and contamination resistance for the life of the coating. Unlike conventional elastomeric roof coatings, Nutech’s NXT AquaGuard will stay cleaner for longer and remain 100% waterproof under seasonal ponding water conditions.

- NXT AquaGuard is not designed to be immersed or applied to subterranean areas.
- Product while in its wet state will clean up with water. Once the product has dried it will need to be removed by mechanical means.
- Typical Applications
Flat Roofs, facades, parapet walls, silos, general surfaces exposed to weather.
- Coverage
• When using Nutech High Build Asphalt Bleed blocking primer and NXT AquaGuard applied at a rate of 4.5 - 5.7 m2/L at 2 Coats.
• When applying NXT AquaGuard without a primer, 2.25 - 3.0 m2/L at 2 Coats.- Recommended Substrates
Suitably primed horizontal or vertical surfaces.
- Mixing/Thinning
- Prior to Commencement - Stir lightly prior to use.
- Thinning not required.
- Test Patch
- When recoating an existing coating, conduct a test patch to check intercoat adhesion.
- If the existing coating is peeling or flaking refer to the Nutech Roof Coating Manual, existing painted surface.
- Substrates Note
- All surfaces must be clean and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dirt, grease, flaking paint and contamination. Fill cracks and holes in the surface as required.
- Improperly prepared surfaces may result in coating failure.
- Application Equipment
- Brush, Roller
- Airless Spray 20 - 30 through spray tip.
- Application Procedure
Tile pointing must be adequately cured in cold weather prior to coating to ensure adhesion.
Weather conditions must be favorable as rain, moisture or dew may cause damage to the coating. Application in extreme hot or cold temperatures will affect gloss and durability. Nutech Paints recommends NXT AquaGuard is applied by Trained Professionals. (Where applicable) Any damaged pointing should be repaired with Nutech MaxiPoint as outlined in the MaxiPoint TDS. Primer Application: Refer to the TECHNICAL ADDENDUM of this TDS or contact your Nutech Paint representative for the best product for your project.
