"It all started back in 1982. Steve Nypower and a partner start a small chemical manufacturing company by the name of Sherwin Industries in Kelowna BC. They developed a number of cleaning formulations, some of which are still similar to many “Nypower” products today.

After a few years the partners split with Steve moving the company to Calgary in 1985, and renaming it NYPOWER INDUSTRIES LTD.

In 2001 Steve moved the company again. He built his own building in scenic Okotoks just 15 minutes south of Calgary.

He ran a beautiful family run business. His wife and sons all contributed to the success of their venture.

By 2004 Steve was looking to retire. He hoped one of his distributors would buy him out. In 2006 that became a reality when the present owner Frank Meisl purchased the company.

Frank owned a large cleaning and maintenance company called Gibraltar Maintenance Services. He had been purchasing large amounts of product from Nypower and was very familiar with how well they worked. Frank was fond of saying “I loved the products so much I bought the company.” After the purchase he had his son in law Jason train to run the operation. His son Josh was the key production and shipping man. His daughter Adria ran the front office. For almost 13 years they did an excellent job of growing the company by means of excellent customer service.
Eventually all the family members left to pursue other ventures, leaving their father Frank as General Manager. Frank is now teamed with Production Manager Rick Monikowski who brings with him vast experience in chemical supply, production and distribution.
