Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is an odorless blue crystal that readily dissolves in water. It is also soluble in methanol, glycerol and slightly soluble in ethanol. Copper Sulfate, sometimes referred to as Blue Vitriol or Bluestone, is a readily available and economic source of copper.

Old Bridge Chemicals Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate Feed Grade (Low Lead) is free flowing and has excellent absorbent properties and is especially suitable for all types of Agricultural and Industrial applications. Some of the Industrial applications include, but are not limited to, copper plating, including electroless copper plating and contains no anti-caking additive. It is manufactured to demanding specifications from carefully selected raw materials, and is subject to stringent quality control testing Additionally, Copper Sulfate is an important dietary supplement in animal feeds and nutrition and Old Bridge Chemicals Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate Feed Grade (Low Lead) is especially designed to meet the stringent requirements of the feed industry. The inclusion of Old Bridge Chemicals Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate Feed Grade (Low Lead), along with other trace minerals and vitamins, stimulates the appetite and produces increased growth rate with a marked improvement in feed conversion. Copper Sulfate is a convenient method of providing supplementary dietary copper to animals and can be administered as an oral drench, through the drinking water, or added to supplementary feed. It can also be dissolved in water and sprayed onto pasture as a foliar application.

Environmental Hazards

Copper Sulfate is toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. If product is spilled, comply with Federal, State and local regulations on reporting spills. Refer to Old Bridge Material Safety Sheet and labels for further details.

Safe Handling

Copper Sulfate is acidic and causes severe eye irritation. It may be irritating to the skin and may cause sensitization reactions in certain individuals. Avoid breathing the dust as it may be irritating to the upper respiratory tract. Contact with eyes and skin should be avoided through the use of safety goggles and rubber gloves. In case of eye contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for 15 minutes and call a physician. If Copper Sulfate is ingested, give large amounts of milk or water. Call a physician. Contaminated clothing should be thoroughly washed before reuse. Refer to Old Bridge Material Safety Data Sheet entitled "Copper Sulfate."

Storage & Handling

Storage

Copper Sulfate should be stored in a cool, dry place. Keep containers closed. Solutions of Copper Sulfate should be stored in tanks fabricated of Type 316 Stainless Steel, rubber-lined steel tanks or plastic tanks.
